Is Common Sense Really that Common?

In Ambition, frustration, Goals, Loyal Customers, Progress, R.J.COLE, relationships, Success on January 20, 2012 at 12:43 pm

Dear entrepreneurs,

Wow! So much has changed over the past few months. The requests for R.J.COLE exclusive designs are coming in. The emails informing me about my fine work have  become consistant and more importantly my name is spreading. I have learned so much, and to be truthful I’ve learned to accept and value the learning experinces from other professionals. I am building a brand, although I am smack right in the beginning I believe in my business so much that I feel a sensation in my mind and heart just thinking about it. My goal is to remain creative and inspired by keeping informative and optimistic people in the loop. Do you have any idea how difficult it is to stay inspired while surrounded by unenthusiastic and pessimistic people? It is impossible, unless you ignore them, but then why keep them circle? You are not invited to join me on my journey to success and expect me to turn a blind eye to your negative lifestyle and way of thinking. There are rules to this whole entrepreneur game. You either win or you loose.  As an entrepreneur, you have to learn to value the benefits of common knowledge. I am not saying that I have it all figured because I don’t. I will say this, I have an expanding client list and the feedback is usually amazing and positive. Do you have a basic system or  strategy geared toward building your business that would be considered just good old common sense?

Hey…I’m the designer here.

Dear entrepreneurs,

I am not a fan of letting my clients tell me exactly how they would like their  R.J.COLE designs to be. If  I allowed my clients to provide me with every little detail for their design, can I really call it an R.J.COLE design? What do you think?

From the Trap House to the Board Room

In Ambition, Goals, Motivation, Progress, R.J.COLE, Success on November 15, 2011 at 2:47 pm

Dear Entrepreneurs,

You have to admit that from time to time it is easy to admire the professionalism of successful entrepreneurs. Most entrepreneurs who weren’t always rolling in cash and arouse to a life of luxury. I bet that various entrepreneurs can remember a time when slang and street talk was their first language and when black hoodies and sneakers was their everyday uniform. So now, time has passed and you have achieved exceptional heights of success. People from all over the globe adore you, what you represent as well as what you stand for. You have become a business man or woman. The perfect example would have to be Mr. Jay-Z. This man has made his way from the trap house to the boardroom. Many are curious to know as to how you can become so famous and successful and not lose yourself. Not every person knows how to leave the street on the street and convey a professional man or woman in the boardroom. However, there are celebs and business professionals who don’t know how to bring the two together without eventually eliminating one or the other. One or the other meaning your true self and the new successful person you have now become.

Can you stay true to yourself after gaining phenomenal successful? Is it easier said than done?

What Dreams May Come

In Ambition, Goals, Motivation, Progress, R.J.COLE, Success on September 30, 2011 at 10:46 am

Dear Entrepreneurs,

I received calls this morning requesting that 8 of  my R.J.COLE designs to be shipped immediately to clients for their upcoming red carpet events. I then logged into my blog and my stats read that 5,000 people visited my blog over night while I was sleeping. Soon after I had awakened I received a call from the New York Times and they’ve asked to interview me to discuss the success of blog and today’s business trends. My name is spreading about my success and  word has got out that I recently designed amazing body jewelry for Halle Berry and Lady GaGa. THEN I WOKE UP. Yes, it is all a dream. Does it seem far fetched that I have dreams like this? Kanye West locked himself in a basement every summer producing master pieces and sooner than later he sold memorable beats from that same basement, collaborated on tracks with Jay-Z and now has an album with Jay-Z. “To dream the impossible dream.” Arnold Schwarzenegger was a body builder from Austria and now he is the former governor of California. You must have a dream. What is your dream worth to you?

The Motivation

In Entrepreneur.com Article, Motivation, One of a Kind, Progress, R.J.COLE, Success, Tips and Advice on September 17, 2011 at 7:33 pm

Dear Entrepreneurs,

I designed and produced 3 more accessories this weekend and I feel fantastic. My goal was to produce just one, but I felt so motivated about the first design that I just kept going and ended up with 3 new one of a kind accessories (OOAK). This is what I call being productive. I think it has a lot to do with me creating an organized, quiet and productive work environment. It is my goal to have a beautiful all white design studio in New York City or Los Angelas, but until then all I have is my petite and charming home office/ design studio in Jersey. Does it matter where you create beauty? Should it matter? There are so many people who will judge your service or product based off where it was produced. Honestly, who gives a dam? Do you? You? You? Anybody? Just worry about what night of the week you plan to wear my R.J.COLE piece and let me worry about producing a beautiful piece for you.

R.J.COLE is on the rise.

YOU HAVEN’T LEFT A NEW POST ON YOUR BLOG SINCE YOU STARTED YOUR VACATION.

Wow! I just arrived to New Jersey from my trip back from Buffalo, NY. I had such an amazing time. I met up with very old friends, partied, laughed, relaxed, slept, thought and reflected on my business, walked around the old neighborhood, found the caterer for my wedding, had lunch with the in-laws and talked to the neighbors and so much more. Toward the end of my trip I realized that I had not updated my blog in days. How can you keep the good times flowing without stopping the flow of your business? Can you have your cake and eat it too?
